Quilting: A Patchwork Past and Present
Suggested ages: 10 to adult
Instructor: Jude Sudbeck

This fun and creative technique shows you how to join simple strips of fabric to blocks, resulting in a stunning lap-sized sample quilt awash in color and movement. Quilting was "born of necessity and has progressed to a highly decorative art form." Learn some of the rich history of this wonderful craft and a valuable lesson, too: when you're left holding a bag of odds and ends, a designing eye can help create some beautiful things from the scraps of history! Approximately one hour of homework per week.
