The Writers’ Workshop
Suggested ages: 9 to 18
Instructor: Jack Donnelly

The Writers’ Workshop is an instructor-led, structured approach to acquire and improve writing skills to prepare students to write on the high school and college level. The instruction and evaluation will be adapted to each student’s skill level: beginning writers will learn composition fundamentals while more proficient students will hone their writing skills to a greater degree of sophistication. The class will include direct instruction on writing style and techniques, including grammar and usage. Students will be given specific assignment in which they will apply the writing process to such genres as personal narrative, descriptive, or expository. Mr. Donnelly is a certified English teacher and homeschool dad, with a Master’s in English Literature, currently teaching at UNO and Metropolitan Community College.
