Teach a Class
The Omaha Homeschool Learning Center provides weekly classes to supplement parents' home curriculum. We meet for a 12-week fall and spring semesters and serve about 160 students each semester. We typically pay teachers $20 per hour. Of course, every class depends on getting enough students to justify the cost of the teacher, so ultimately classes are determined by what our students (or their parents) want.
If you offer other classes, it's my hope that the exposure at the Center would increase that enrollment. When determining which classes to send their children to, homeschoolers primarily use word-of-mouth and personal recommendations. The Learning Center offers you a wonderful introduction to the thriving homeschool community, which numbers over 2500 students in the nearby three county area. Another advantage is that we handle the advertising, enrollment, and collections; you just teach.

The students pay consumables directly to the teacher. Sometimes it's hard to make an estimates the first time around, but do your best since that may be a factor in a student's decision about taking the class. Most classes charge $5 (or nothing), but it's not out of the question for a class to have a $10 fee and in some cases higher.
Please call if you have any questions!
