Parents’ Role
Our mission is to help you enjoy, enrich, prepare, and protect your children. These supplemental classes are meant to assist your homeschooling efforts, but we always want to affirm parents as their child’s primary educator. Please be informed about your children’s classes: ask questions, talk to teachers, and ask us about sitting in on classes.
We hope moms can stay at the Center while their kids are in class so that they can find some time to rest and enjoy themselves among other like-minded homeschool moms. But this is only a suggestion: you know best what you need to do, and you are welcome to drop your children off.
Please be aware that the Learning Center is only responsible for the safety of children in the classroom; parents or the children themselves are responsible at all other times.
A Note on Partnership
The Learning Center only works if it’s a shared effort. Families, teachers, and staff all play a part, and we’re grateful for the many ways you help make our days run smoothly.
We’re especially grateful for that partnership when
—you read and put into practice the information that we send. We try to make it easier by boldfacing what matters most, so you can skim and still catch what applies.
—you try the website when you have questions. Many answers can be found at omahahomeschool.com, especially under the Current Students tab, the FAQs, Policies, and our Calendar. There’s even a search icon at the top right.
—you offer us grace in the gaps: when the inevitable hiccups occur, patience and goodwill make a real difference. We’re grateful to be part of a community that shows both so often. I know we look like a normal company, but we’re really just a mom-and-pop shop with two full-time employees (named Jack and Holly).
