Financial Fees and Policies

  1. When registering for classes, families pay a non-refundable deposit equal to 34% of the tuition and supply fees. The remaining balance will be charged in two equal installments during the 4th and 8th weeks of the semester.

  2. Adjustments made to registered classes will incur a charge that is non-refundable, non-transferable, and cannot be credited. The fee schedule is as follows:

  • More than 6 weeks before the semester begins: any changes will result in the loss of 34% of the tuition and supply fee for each dropped class.

  • Between 6 weeks and 3 weeks before the semester begins: any changes will result in a 50% loss of tuition and supply fees for each dropped class.

  • From 3 weeks before the start of the semester onward: any changes will result in a 100% loss of tuition and supply fees for each dropped class.

  1. We are no longer able to refund the full tuition for cancellations, even when due to unforeseen circumstances.

  2. A $20 fee will be charged for failed installment payments, such as expired credit cards, insufficient funds, etc.

  3. Any remaining volunteer scholarship credits for the semester will remain on your account as a credit for future use rather than being refunded. The credit is not transferable.

Sadly, it is no longer fiscally responsible for us to offer full refunds as routinely as we have in the past. Such a policy carries a significant cost: while approximately 88% of our classes are full at the start of the semester, only about 62% remain full by the fifth week. These changes are rarely related to class quality and instead reflect shifts in family decisions. This pattern results in:

  • Lost opportunities for other homeschool families who might have taken those spots.

  • Increased administrative burden, including additional communication, careful decision-making, and extensive bookkeeping.

  • Reduced revenue, which affects our ability to sustain high-quality programming.

We appreciate your understanding and willingness to work with us to continue to make the Omaha Homeschool Learning Center a success.
