Behavioral expectations and the Code of Conduct
serve different purposes.

  • Behavioral expectations describe the basic skills and behaviors a student needs to participate successfully in classes. (See here.)

  • Once behavioral expectations are met, the Code of Conduct outlines the rules students are expected to follow. (See here.)

Context Affects Consequences

Because circumstances can differ, our decisions rely on thoughtful judgment rather than a strict, one-size-fits-all rule. Consequences are determined with care, taking into account the context and severity of each situation.

In rare cases of particularly serious behavior, consequences may be more severe than those indicated by typical policies, including the possibility of immediate suspension or expulsion.

Tracking Incidents Over Time

Misconduct infractions are cumulative, meaning a second incident is typically treated as such even if it occurs in a different location. Depending on the situation, incidents may also carry over into future semesters.

Our goal is always to work with families to support positive growth and help students succeed whenever possible in a group setting.

Please note: tuition is not refunded for class time missed due to disciplinary action.

Infraction Guidelines

First Infraction

The Learning Center will contact the family to report the situation.

Parents must reply to emails or texts before the student may return to class.

Second Infraction

The Learning Center will contact the family to report the situation.

Parents must reply to emails or texts before the student may return.

The student may be suspended from some or all classes for one day.

During that day, the student will check in at the Front Table and have a designated seat.

Third Infraction

The Learning Center will contact the family to report the situation.

Parents must reply to emails or texts before the student may return.

The student may be suspended for up to three weeks.

When on Learning Center grounds, the student will check in at the Front Table and have a designated seat.

Fourth Infraction

For repeated or serious concerns, the student may receive a longer suspension, or in some cases, expulsion. Infractions are cumulative, even if they occur in different locations or across multiple semesters.
