February 22, 2025Learning Center Classes Will Be Held on 2/19
Hello all,
Brrrr!
We are expecting to hold classes tomorrow despite the cold temperatures. This decision is based on the fact that students don’t walk to the Learning Center as they do for schools, as well as our concern about future inclement weather that may cause us to close later in the semester.
As always, please make the best decision for you and your family.
You don’t need to contact us if you can’t make it unless you are a volunteer.
If your child is in a graded class, please contact the teacher about missed work. (See addresses on our website). Note: if your child is in a graded class, you would have already been contacted about it.
We realize that this may cause hardship for some families, and we ask for your grace as we navigate these difficulties.
Sincerely,
Jack, Holly, and Sarah

Some AI Tips for Travelling in the Cold*
Keep at least half a tank of fuel in your vehicle, as well as an ice scraper.
Charge your phone fully and bring your phone charger. Have an upbeat playlist ready.
Wear or bring boots, scarves, mittens, hats, etc.
Pack some blankets, food, and water. Don’t skimp on the snacks, which are essential for good morale. However, exercise caution with any type of Cheetos as these will diminish your water supply as you clean off fingers.
If stuck, you can dial *55 to reach the Highway Helpline or use the HONK app for roadside assistance.
While you’re waiting for help, run your engine sparingly and crack open a window to reduce exhaust fumes.
*Please note that AI has never been outside during a Nebraska winter. Plus, there seems to be some thought that its ultimate goal is the extermination of the human race, so you may want to take these suggestions with a grain of salt. And speaking of salt, you might want to take some of that, too (or kitty litter, although it’s not recommended to actually take the cats with you. Instead, consider bringing a St. Bernard.).
