February 10, 2025Hi all,
[We know that your time is limited. However, as part of our partnership, we need you to read important information. I will boldface certain items so that it will be easy to skim past that which does not affect you. Thanks so much!]
Thanks for a great first day at the Learning Center! We have noted your dissatisfaction with Mother Nature and have lodged a strongly-worded formal grievance (although, after a near lightning strike, we have had to alter our tone slightly.)
1. The Ice: this is the first time in 20 years that we have opened, and the weather has worsened to that degree. The matter was complicated by varying conditions in many parts of the area. There were mixed reports about the driving conditions,
We debated and decided to stick with our policy of following the Omaha Public Schools’ lead. We’re so sorry for those of you who missed the first day and appreciate your patience as we do the best that we can. As always, we want you to make the best decisions for your family.
2. The Moms’ Room will now be located in Room 201 at the top of the stairs. We realize that this is not as comfortable a space as we have had in years past. However, we are complying with the wishes of our generous host, Southwest Church.
3. Students formerly in room 201 will now meet in 204. This includes Game Club (10am), Art 6-9 (11am), Art 10-14 (noon), Show Me the Money (1), Spanish 6 to 10 (2), and Shifting Gears (3).
There were some unexpected changes to room 201; we hope that this new room will be more functional for those classes.
A revised map can be found at https://omahahomeschool.com/class-map/
Thanks so much for your patience as we work through opening-day befuddlements. We appreciate y’all all so much!
Jack, Holly, and Sarah
