Update 2.21.25
February 22, 2025Update 3.21.25, part 2
March 21, 2025Sad News
Unfortunately, we have some tragic news to share. A high school student, who has been a long-time student at the Learning Center, died by suicide last week. We are shocked and saddened by this news, and our hearts go out to the family. We wanted to share this information with you so that you can join us in prayer as well as alert you that the topic of suicide and death may come up at the Learning Center so that you have the opportunity to approach your children about it if you see fit. Since the student was in high school, we’re hoping that it’s not something that would come up in younger classes.
PLEASE DO NOT FLUSH BABY WIPES or feminine products or anything that is not toilet paper
Southwest Church continues to have sewer issues. This time the culprit was wipes that were flushed down the toilet; a month ago it was feminine products that were flushed. Please be sure not to flush anything other than toilet paper while at the church. They are so kind that they did not accuse us, but you don’t have to be Sherlock Holmes to know which group has the most babies and students at the facility. (Hint: it’s us.)

*Snirt: An informal portmanteau for snow covered with dirt, especially where strong winds pick up topsoil and blow it into snowy areas, or dirty snow left over from plowing operations. A portmanteau is a word blending the sounds and combining the meanings of two others, for example, motel (from “motor” and “hotel”) or brunch (from “breakfast” and “lunch”).
