The Learning Center Is a Month Away!
Hi all!
Believe it or not, the Learning Center is officially one month away. This is your early-warning system. You’ll hear from us again as we get closer. Whether you view this as a promise or a threat is up to you.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Please do us a solid and actually read our messages. Carefully. All the way through. Then, before emailing us, consult the website, which, like an oracle, already knows the answers to many of your questions. (Example: if you find yourself wondering when classes begin after reading the subject line, try the calendar on our website or Amilia. It’s right there. Waiting.)
(Okay, here’s a hint: it’s Feb. 4th. Sheesh, I’m such a softie.)
-
CLASS LISTS:We’ve attached one, but you can always find that information on your Amilia app, right? If not, download the app on your phone just as you did for Candy Crush, and then watch this if needed:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l2lQNT-48kg
a. “Full” Classes: Your child may be enrolled in a class marked as “full.” Ne vous derange pas as the French say (literally, “Do not derange yourself”). Your child is still in the class; we promise this is not a trap.
-
Dropping or switching classes must be requested by email. Please note that such changes will incur a financial penalty depending on the proximity to the start of classes. We are unable to fully refund classes even when due to unforeseen circumstances. See details here.
-
BOOKS & SUPPLIES.Some classes need them such as Ballet, Biology, Chemistry, Drawing, General Science, Hardship to Hope, Photography, Physical Science, Pre-Ballet, The Shakespeare Stealer (optional), Sign Language, Spanish 10-14, and Waffle Adventures (optional), Writing Academic Essays.
NOTE: If your child took the class last semester, you shouldn’t need to buy anything new.
You can see the specifics in the class descriptions. (Click on a class, then click on View Activity Details and scroll down to bottom.). Almost all art classes need a smock/old t-shirt.
-
POLICY REMINDERS(These were included as part of your registration)
a. A $20 fee will be charged for failed installment payments, such as expired credit cards, insufficient funds, etc.
b. Students who are consistently unable to meet classroom behavioral expectations may need to be removed from class. These situations will incur a full loss of tuition and supply fees for the class. See specific details here.
Financial penalties are non-refundable, non-transferable, and cannot be credited.
-
VOLUNTEERS. You should have already received an email and/or text; If you didn't, boy are you in trouble! JK--just email us, and we'll get you settled in. A second message is forthcoming with your specific assignments.
-
WAITLISTS: If you have a child on a waitlist, you want to know if your kid is going to get in or not. As soon as you ask the question, you should see the futility of trying to answer it. What I can say is this:
a. Most openings happen between now and the end of week two.
-
When a spot opens, everyone on the waitlist gets an email at the same time. It’s first-come, first-served. May the odds be ever in your favor.
-
You may enroll your child in a backup class, but if the waitlisted class doesn’t work out and you drop the backup, you are financially responsible.
-
If your child does get into the waitlisted class, contact us to drop the other class at no charge. We’re not monsters.
