January 18, 2026Volunteer List by Name Spring 2026
January 27, 2026NOTE: Some families arrive here via a text link. If that’s you and you need to contact us, please reply by email to omahahomeschool@gmail.com—we won’t see replies sent by text.
Hi all,
Learning Center classes start next week (Feb. 4th)! We’re looking forward to your kids enjoying all the great things that our teachers have planned! Meanwhile, here are a few pesky details:
TLDR: Yes, this message is long and there’s even more in the links; please read everything that is relevant to you. By taking classes, you partner with us in your child’s learning. It’s different than dropping the kids off at the Y.
- BEGINNING YOUR DAY: No need to check in; just scoot your kids to their first class.
- THE CLASSROOM MAP is here. We will also have maps available at the entrance, but you are responsible for your kids’ schedule of classes and your own volunteer schedule. If you have any questions, see us at the front table, which is at the south end of the lobby.
- IF YOU AND YOUR LITTLE ONES ARE FREE AROUND 2:00 pm, we’d love to have you help as a Hall Monitor. This job pairs perfectly with small children; it’s mostly strolling through the hallways, with a few light chores along the way, and a peek outside weather permitting. Parents without kids are welcome to do the job, too, of course! It comes with a $60 credit for those who already have a volunteer job—and an even more for those not already volunteering.
- ILLNESS: Although any public area increases exposure to germs, we ask that you be responsible by not bringing sick children to the Learning Center. Colds are unavoidable, but children with fevers, severe cough, or any infectious diseases should remain at home. A child with flu-like illness (fever and a cough) should stay home from class for at least 24 hours after they no longer have a fever, without the use of fever-reducing medicine.
- INCLEMENT WEATHER: An email and text message will be sent out by 8am if classes will not meet. Typically we follow the lead of the Omaha Public Schools.
- SOMETIMES TEACHERS SEND EMAILS ABOUT THEIR CLASSES. Some of you have chosen to be contacted by text, but teachers’ messages only come as emails.
- VOLUNTEERS should pick up their name badge on the table just inside the main entrance to the left.
HALL MONITORS should check in at the front table at the south end of the lobby. - RULES: Please go over the Code of Conduct with your children before the start of classes (found here).
- THAT DARN DRESS CODE: Please pay particular attention to this, which applies to everyone who comes into the Learning Center, including parents and those folks who are only picking up or dropping off kids. We actually enforce thisdespite the embarrassment it causes us. You can help us avoid problems by reviewing your children’s clothing choices. There is an abbreviated list at the end.
- LOCATION: We’re at 124th and West Center (2600 S 124th St). You can see it here.
- CLASS LISTS are attached, with room numbers. Remember, you can always check your Amilia app for this same information. NOTE: Don't be alarmed if the class is listed as full. If you see your child's name, then they are in the class, thus making it full.
- FEES
1) Dropping or switching classes must be requested by email. Please remember that such changes will incur a financial penalty depending on the proximity to the start of classes. We are unable to fully refund classes even when due to unforeseen circumstances. See details here.
2) A $20 fee will be charged for failed installment payments, such as expired credit cards, insufficient funds, etc.
3) Students who are consistently unable to meet classroom behavioral expectations may need to be removed from class. These occurrences will incur a full loss of tuition and supply fees for the class. See specific details here.
Financial penalties are non-refundable, non-transferable, and cannot be credited.
- CONTACT US, NOT THE CHURCH: On Wednesdays you can find us at the front table which is at the south end of the lobby (left as you enter).
You can also contact us at omahahomeschool@gmail.com, or text 402-541-4829. Please do not enter or contact the church office at any time.
You can CONTACT TEACHERS using our website: About Us/Contact a Teacher
Looking forward to seeing everyone!
